Who do you treat?
Assigned Female at Birth (AFAB) people who have vaginas. Check out our Pelvis Pals page for who we recommend for anyone else because we believe EVERYONE deserves great pelvic floor care!

What will my first session be like?
We will first chat about  your past medical history, current chief complaints, and any other relevant information regarding your visit. Your physical evaluation will include a general orthopedic physical therapy screen combine with a pelvic health specific evaluation including an internal assessment of the pelvic floor (vaginal and/or rectal as appropriate to your complaints). A discussion of findings and a development of a realistic plan of care based on your findings, personal goals, and your schedule. You will receive a home program from your therapist given through your patient portal in PTEverywhere.

What should I do to prepare for my first visit?

  • Complete the new patient paperwork no later than the day prior to your appointment. This allows your PT to adequately prepare!

  • Add a card (HSA, FSA, Credit, or Debit) to your PTEverywhere account payment tab. Although you will not be charged beforehand, it is policy that we have a card on file prior to your initial evaluation.

What should I wear to my visit?
Wear comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in.

What should I bring to my first visit?

  • Questions regarding your visit

  • Medication list (if applicable)

Can I bring my baby to the visits?
Yes, absolutely! The office has plenty of space for you and your little one!

Do you take my insurance?
We are considered out of network.  This allows us to give you high quality, one-on-one care, for the full entirety of your treatment. Many insurance companies have the option of submitting a claim for reimbursement after treatment. A superbill can be provided for you for reimbursement.

Do I have to pay for parking?
Parking is free at our Inman Park location, but only pay-for options are currently available at our Midtown office. For more parking information and directions, click here and scroll to bottom of page!

Is an internal exam necessary?
An internal pelvic floor examination is not necessary during the first visit. If you are uncomfortable with this approach on the initial visit we can discuss options. An internal examination is the gold standard to assess the pelvic anatomy and to find objective measures that can help aid in our treatment.

If I am on my period can an internal exam be done?
Yes, we treat people during their period all the time! If it makes you uncomfortable, though, please do not hesitate to cancel. Our late cancellation policy is only 24 hours!

If I am pregnant can an internal exam be done?
Yes, if you are pregnant we can do an internal exam. This is a great way to see where your baseline measures are in your pelvic floor tone, strength, and stability.
